Pada 1 Juli lalu, keluarga, kerabat, sahabat dan penggemar mendiang drummer Pantera, Vinnie Paul Abbott berkumpul menggelar upacara pemakaman publik di Bomb Factory, Dallas, AS. Paul meninggal dunia di usia 54 tahun pada 22 Juni lalu.

Dalam acara tersebut, berbagai musisi, atlet ternama dan penyiar serta DJ radio berbagi kisah pribadi mereka tentang Paul. Beberapa nama seperti Charlie Benante (drummer Anthrax), Chris Adler (drummer Lamb of God), bahkan memainkan set drum milik Paul.

Drum milik almarhum bersanding dengan karangan bunga yang dikirim oleh Slayer, Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Megadeth, Ozzy dan Sharon Osbourne, Geezer Butler (bassis Black Sabbath) dan beberapa musisi juga band lainnya.

Pada 10 Juli lalu, akun Instagram resmi Pantera mengunggah video kiriman mantan personel Black Sabbath, Bill Ward. Dalam video tersebut, Ward membacakan puisi yang ia tulis untuk Paul. Klip ini telah diputar di upacara pemakaman publik Paul. Tonton di bawah ini:
