Menginjak usia satu dekade di belantika musik, label independen cult Captured Tracks kembali mengumumkan perilisan album kompilasi spesial. Label berbasis di Brooklyn, AS itu siap melepas double vinyl berisikan 22 track dari artis-artis naungan andalan mereka. Rencananya album kompilasi ini bakal rilis pada 26 Oktober mendatang.
Sekumpulan nama-nama keren di kancah indie rock/indie pop turut menyumbang karya-karya breakout mereka. Di antaranya Beach Fossils (“Distance”), DIIV (“Big Joke”), Wild Nothing (“Paradise”), Widowspeak (“In the Pines”), Mac DeMarco (“Still Beating”), hingga Craft Spell (“Ramona”).
Tak ketinggalan supergrup Shitfather ikut menyumbang dua lagu cover dari Blank Dogs dan Cleaners From Venus. Bukan sembarang nama, Shitfather adalah band live iseng yang dihuni oleh sederet indie rocker tenar seperti Mac DeMarco, Dustin Payseur (Beach Fossils), Zachary Cole Smith (DIIV), Jack Tatum (Wild Nothing), dan Matt Kallman (Real Estate).
Captured Tracks didirikan oleh Mike Sniper pada tahun 2008. Selama terbentuk, label ini dikenal luas sebagai rumah bagi band-band ‘hipster’ di lanskap alternative rock. Captured Tracks telah berjasa membesarkan nama-nama seperti Dum Dum Girls, Mac DeMarco, DIIV, Wild Nothing, dan Beach Fossils di kancah musik.
